Our tips: The most stylish activewear looks for summer 24/25
Finally the weather is warming up here in Melbourne and this signals the need to change up out workout outfits and add a few new styles to our wardrobe.
We have included our recommendations for Spring/Summer staples that you might want to consider to stay stylish and effortlessly cool this season.
Workout Shorts/Bike Shorts: This goes without saying but a few pairs of workout shorts added to your wardrobe is one of the key style tips.
Of course, shorts will keep you cooler during your training sessions but they are also a super sporty style piece that can be included in your summer outfits. Whether you are heading to a pilates class, a walk or brunch with friends, a carefully curated pair of shorts could be your newest style favourite.
The key is to choose a length that suits your body type and preference. Longer styles may cover more skin but they aren't always the most flattering on all bodies so try a few lengths and see what makes you look and feel your best.
Of course black is a staple and for this I suggest you try the Lilybod Sam Shelf Shorts in Black. If you love a camo or animal print then these can look incredible paired with a co-ordinating sports bra or a basic black crop.
Activewear Tank: I'm not sure about you, but I am often leaving the gym and heading straight to the post office/supermarket/school pick-up. This means that a lightweight cover up is my best friend to throw on while I attend to the following duties.
A lightweight mesh or cotton tank is a staple for me and I prefer an oversized look for summer which pairs well with shorts.
My general rule with fashion is "if it's small on the bottom, make it bigger on the top". This theory creates balance and it just looks more stylish and put-together overall.
My favourite mesh tank is the Lilybod Zela Mesh Tank. It's super lightweight and I find the cut really flattering.
You can also style your shorts with an oversized tee for a cool street look.
Longline Sports Bra: Having a few longline sports bras in your summer wardrobe is a must. They are the perfect blend of a supportive sports bra and a singlet so they can go from workout to brunch with a lightweight jacket thrown over the top (more on that later...). There are many styles and colours to choose from but I adore the shape and cut of the Lilybod Ava-R Sports Bra.
Windbreaker Jacket: A lightweight, sporty windbreaker jacket is a fantastic addition to any summer wardrobe especially if you reside in the south of Australia and the mornings and evenings can still get a bit brisk.
I love my Lilybod Clara Jacket for this very purpose. Not only is it super functional with its zip pockets and hood in case it rains (I live in Melbourne so anything can happen here) but it's long-line design pairs perfectly with leggings or shorts and the draw-strings at the waist allow you to customise the fit to your body.
Summer is my favourite time of year and I am super excited to upgrade my activewear wardrobe and not only hit my fitness goals, but also my style goals.
Bec xx
